Trying to find information on Iva Mae Parent who married Harry Purcell ( Percell ) Believe Iva Mae Parent b abt. 1886 Gennesco, Rice County Ks. Married a Harry Purcell b abt.1883--short story here as My Grandfather Fredrick E Grass loaded up a old 51 studebaker in abt 1960 and out of the blue said he was going to Drumright Ok. this a year after my grandmother died (Zadia Ross ) her mothers Maidan name was ( Sally Bell Pierson )--My grandfather Fred Grass b 1884 Cherryvalle Ks. and started teaching school at the age of 19 in Deering or Indenpendence Ks. My grandfather taught 47 years and was teaching on the Washington coast when this took place ( most of his years teaching in this state )--my sisters and I lost all touch with our grandfather but just found a short note in his things that stated he had found and married a wonderful lady---( abt 1960 )this note also said he was going to finish his teaching job here in Washington state and going back to retire in Drumright Ok.--My question and do believe this, that my grandfather knew Iva Mae Parent when he was in Kansas---my grandfather and grandmother came out to Wa. state abt 1910---so a mystery as to why grandfather left so quick to go back to Drumright Ok. to marry as had not been out of state for many, many years Iva Died 1986 and my grandfather died 1968--both burried in North Cemetery , Drumright Ok.---Lot of confusion here for me as Iva"s obit read GLASS not GRASS---Surnames I am researching and feel a connection are--ROSS-PIERSON-GRAFS-GRASS-GREATHOUSE-SNYDER-SMITHERS-SMOTHERS to name a few---thanks ahead for any info--Dick Cooper
