This may be a long shot but ...
George PURCELL, b.c.1852 in India, came to Canada bef.1866, served in the 1st Bn, Prince of Wales Regt as a Private, was awarded the Canada General Service Medal with bar 'Fenian Raid 1866', was resident in Lincoln, Ottawa in 1881, and in Ottawa in 1902. Was commissioned into the Cavalry, seniority as Lieut 19June1874, Kingston Troop, 4th Cav Reg. Thats all details I have.
