I read, with great interest, your post about Long Island Quakers coming ca 1720 to the North Castle area of Westchester County, mentioning the name Birdsall and Purdy.
My focus of research is the Hempstead, Long Island Jaycocks family, who were Quaker when in Hempstead, and part of the family remained Quaker after coming to Westchester County, ca 1720 and then to Southern Precinct Dutchess County in the mid-1700s.
James Jaycox, born about 1750 married Deborah Purdy born about 1750, died 1843, and these were from the area of Phillipstown/Garrison, in what is now Putnam County.
Birdsalls appeared on the 1698 Hempstead census with the Jaycocks family.
I'd appreciate the opportunity to correspond with you about these LI Quaker families.
