OBITUARY.
MRS. HANNAH [GATES] HOPSON.
.
Mrs. Hannah [Gates] Hopson, wife of the late Linus R. Hopson of Sherburne [New York], died in that village, Thursday, April 12, [1888], aged 81 years.She was born in Chenango, in December of 1806 [?], and had spent over [60?] years of her life in Sherburne.She was a daughter of Newman Gates and was of a family of two sons and four daughters.

One of her sisters, Mrs. Judge Purdy, whose husband was a member of congress at one time, is still living and is the last of the family.Her other sisters were Mrs. Dr. Corbin [Almeda Gates, wife of Squire W. Corbin], of Chenango County, and Mrs. Arba K. Maynard [Minerva Gates].

Mrs. Hopson leaves six [?] sons:Henry [?] Hopson of Utica, Lewis D. Hopson, Newman Hopson, Smith and Charles Hopson, of Sherburne, and George Hopson, who lives in Missouri.

The funeral occurs today at 2:00 p.m.
