I'd be interested if you find a link from your family to the Purdy family members from New York who settled in Ohio Co., Va. (the part that's now Marshall Co., W.Va.). That's a long way from Patrick Co., Va., but the Purdys were a mobile bunch, even generations ago. If you establish a connection with Marshall Co., I have genealogical info. (with sources) on those Purdys that I'd be happy to share.
