Christy, you have to be part of my dad's line. There were 4 siblings 3 brothers and a sister that moved to that area together. (mid 1800's)I've traced them back so far but can't find their parents names. The 3 brothers were John H Perkinson, Thomas Wesley Purgason and Robert Purgason. The name was derived from England and was actually the middle name of a fellow with the last name Featherstone. He spelled his name Perkynson. It makes looking up names difficult because you have to look at all the spellings.(I think I've found 9 different ways to spell the name) They moved to NC from Va.Robert was killed during the Civil War and my line goes back to John H. Thomas Wesley had lots of kids and even more grandchildren, so you're more likely to be in his line. I have a book at home that might have your dad's parents or grandparents names in it. Let me know if you still need info. e-mail lynn.lusk@slkp.com
