The only thing I have on his parents is that his Dad was born in Va. and his Mom was born in NC. He and his 2 brothers & 1 sister moved to Rockingham around 1844. I'm a decendant of one of his brothers(John H. Perkinson) The sister Sarah married John Mooney (around 1844)and moved back to Va. The other brother Robert (J. I think) died in the Civil War. Thomas was the only one that lived to and old age. It's a mystery to me why they moved together at that time. Robert was only around 13 when they came to Rockingham County. (it makes me wonder if their parents died and they had other relatives in that area.) The name was spelled so many different ways, it's makes it hard to trace. I thought they might be decendants of John Wesley Perkinson, but can't find anything to back it up. I have a book that traces the Rockingham County Purgasons back to these 4 siblings. It's too big to copy, but if you want to know anything about Wes, just ask & I'll look it up and let you know what I can find.
What do you know about his parents?
