Hi Leslie,

I just remembered, there was another Purington I know of that was lost at sea. James (George 1722, Joshua 1672, John 1635, George Puddington 1599) b. 1778 in Epping, NH, d.1803, lost at sea. He m. Betsey Page and fathered only two children before he died. She went on to m. Ebenezer Morse.

The other James is probably more likely but who knows.
