Between 1820-1830 a female and male (unknown) were born to Reuben and Sarah Purkey from Hancock Co. If married in 1842 and moved to Ky., she very well could be their daughter and she would have been a sister to James, who marr Dicey Wilbourne.
James Purkey was b ca.1826 and married 1845. Tn. Mahala seems to be a familiar name in the Reuben Purkey family and Hurley is a popular surname for Hancock Co. Mahala may be the long lost daughter of Reuben.
