I can't say 100% yes, but...

Christian, Jacob and Andru Bierkenbeyle arrived at the Port of Philadelphia in 1754. Andru's will lists the spelling as Bergenboyle, Perkepeal, and Perkepill... the variations commonly attributed to little to no education. Later, the name was changed to Purkeypile, which was shortened two generations later to Purkey. I hope this helps, if only a little!
