Your relative, John Andrew Purkey (Purkeypile) was the son of Jacob Purkeypile and Rebecca Edwards. He was born in York, PA. The family moved to Crawford County Ohio circa 1846 and had a farm near Galion, OH. John Andrew's younger brother, Levi Francis is my great grandfather.

I have collected a lot of information on Jacob (Junior) and his father Jacob Sr. and his grandfather Andrew Purkey (who is buried in Middletown Cemetery in Crawford County. I have no idea where Jacob Jr or Sr. are buried. Junior's probate records indicate that he lived somewhere in Illinois when he died in 1876. Rebecca, his wife, was living in Upper Sandusky, Ohio at the time. I think that Jacob Jr had moved to Illinois to help his son, Jacob Milton, set up a flour mill across the Wabash River from Vincennes, Indiana.
