I am looking for a John Purkey (Purkeypile) who was born in PA in 1840 and moved to Crawford County. He married Catharine Sprow in 1862. I have found a Jacob and Rebecca Purkeypile in the 1850 Crawford County census with the following children: Theodore, Margaret, Sarah Jane, John, Amelia, Matilda, Milton, Francis and Franklin. Do you think this is your family? Do you have any information on the son John? He is my gr-grandfather and I can't find him prior to his marriage. If you think there is a connection, please get in touch.
