Does anyone have any information on James Monroe Purnell b. 1836, SC, m. 1856 to Martha Orr Liddell and d. 24 June 1910 in Tippah, Co., MS? He and Martha had 7 children, Emma Jane, Mary Allas, John Liddell, Charles Henry, Robert Lee and Elizabeth "Bessie" Opelia. I believe J. M. served in the 2nd Miss. Cavalry, Co. A in the Civil War. The spelling is sometimes Parnell or Pernell, which is the problem! Any information on his parentage would be appreciated.
