Rev. Robert Purnell and Newton connection

Can anyone shed any light on this? On the 1850 Tippah Co, MS census with the family of Thomas Newton are listed Mary Purnell 17, John Purnell-21, and James Purnell-14, all born in Alabama. I am guessing they are orphans or that John and Mary might be married and James is his brother. I saw where one of Rev. Robert Purnell's daughters, Dorcas, married a Rev. Cornelius Newton. Could these be any of her brother's children? Any help on the children of John, James Jenkins, Hope Hull, Robert and Henson would be appreciated. There was a Rev. Henson Purnell in Tippah Co. at this time.
Thanks,
Marti
