Again, thank you for your help. You have made me go back and think about a Rev. Henson Purnell connection to my James Monroe Purnell (1836-1910). I'll have to study what I have. I have in my notes that James Daughrity Purnell (1868-1950, Union MS) was the son of Dr. Joseph Benson Purnell (1830-1913, buried Union MS) and the grandson of Rev. Hinson Purnell (1787-1875) and g-grandson of Robert Purnell of Cheraw, SC. Hinson, Joseph Benson and James Monroe Purnell are all in Tippah Co. for the 1860 Census so I think there is a possibility of a connection.
