Theodocia`s father was a plasturer by trade in the census and in the 1850 he is listed as born in VA and in the 1860 he is listed as born in KY.

Considering the fact that Mason Co KY was formed from Bourbon Co KY in 1788. Before that we find Bourbon Co KY was formed in 1785 from Fayette Co KY. Pushing back further we find that Fayette Co KY was formed in 1780 from Kentucky Co VA.

I am trying to find out the other brother to Armstead and Thomas PURNELL that should be the listing in Mason Co KY in the 1840 census. Armstead always listed himself as born in VA as well.

BTW evidently the younger sister, Josephine, never survived infancy. Did younger brother, James, survive infancy ??
