Hello Eddie
From what I understand the name Purinton/Purington/Purrington in the US, comes from two brothers Robert and George Puddington. Robert and George came here c. 1640. They were the son's of Robert and Joan from Tiverton, Devon, England.

Many of their descendants can be found from early records in Main, New Hampshire and Mass. From there they spread out all over the place.

So if this little bit of information helps to pin point where the Purington name originated from in the US hope it helps with your search.
