Batavia (Illinois) Herald, Sept. 5, 1907:

David Purrington of this city, road foreman of a construction gang employed by the U.S. Wind Engine and Pump company, in putting up steel towers and tanks, fell from the top of a forty foot tower, to the ground last Tuesday at Stonington, Christian county. Purrington was at the top of the steel tower turning a nut on a bolt when the heavy wrench slipped and, losing his balance, he dropped to the ground, turning over several times in his fall and striking a pile of loose dirt below. The soft dirt and striking right saved him from severe injured.

This newspaper item is posted as a courtesy. I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
