James Herbert Purtell (1832-1871) and Edwin C. Purtell (1844-bef 1900) were in Atlanta before and immediately after the Civil War. Both indicated they were born in Ireland and both were Merchant Tailors. They lived near each other in Atlanta. I suspect they were brothers.
Does anyone have any information about these two men?
