Hello David I am not sure if I had gotten back with you on this post. I see I had a fkw1 Hotmail address which has since chagned. I sometimes still get messages from still but not sure if you tried contacting me on that email.

The information I had on Robert Purtill and Mary McCarthy was from my mothers cousin who had collected data on the family but since past. She had wrote a brief history on them but where she collected the information I am not sure. Other than she wrote the that during 1836-37 the Enlish Govt. was giving Ireland Immigants free passage to America or Canada and had to supply their own food and water.
Did I ever send you that information she wrote. About how he would walk to Simcoe with bags of wheat. Please let me know and I will email them to you
