I'm looking for any information on my GG-Grandfather, Michael Purtell. This much I have found so far.He was born either 1810 or 1812 in Ireland. By 1835 he was living in Apolochan Township,Susquehanna County PA. He was still alive in the late 1890s or early 1900s as my granfather John J Purtell (1888-1987) remembereed him living with him when he was a child. Michael Apparently had three brothers,Lawrence,Robert and Terrance. Terrance lived next door to Michael. Unsure if they all arrived in the U.S. at the same time. It seems they landed in NY City and traveled on the Eire Canal arriving in Binghamton NY. The cellars of Michaels and Terrance's homes still remain as their farms are now PA state game lands.
Thanks, Larry Purtell
