While at the library coping obits for someone, I also managed to get a copy of a funeral notice on John Purtell. I thought I would post it in the hopes it will be helpful to someone.

PURTELL - The funeral of the late John Purtell took place this morning at 8:30 o'clock from his home, 215 Worthen street and was largely attended. The cortege proceeded to St. Patrick's church where at 9 o'clock a mass of requiem was sung by Rev. Joseph Curtin. The choir under the direction of Michael J. Johnsons sang the Gregorian mass, the solos being sustained by Miss Alice E. Murphy and Mr. Andrew McCarthy. The bearers were Patrick, John Walter and Bernard Purtell, all sons of deceased. Albert Rushelow and John Thibodeau, nephews. At the grave, Rev. Fr. Curtin read the committal prayers. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. Undertakers J.F. O'Donnell & Sons in charge.
