Doing a little research it appears there is a problem discerning between Purtill and Purtell. Untill I started digging, I didn't know which was which.

Anyway, I have some backround information on the Purtill's from Limerick City. My grandmother was Josephine and baptized in St. John's Cathedral in 1884 and having been born in 1880. Her mother was Margaget Murnane and the family emigrated sometime about 1890 to 1900. My grandmother married in NYC in 1906.

Regards,

Nick Walsh
