Janita, I have Samuel Purviance, son of John, born Castle Finn, Ireland in 1701. He married Lettice Dinsmore and fathered 11 children. There is a items that indicate he came to America with his sons: (1) A meeting held in Philadelphia relating to the formation of the Presbyterian Church there does list the attendence of Samuel Purviance and of Samuel Purvianve, Jr; (2) Samuel, during the early years in this country always signed as Junior, a practice hardly necessary unless distinguishing a father from a son.

William, b.9-4-1720, d.1787
