Hello, Carol. Maybe I am misreading your geneology, but I am certain that John Purviance (1712) who married Margaret McKnight is not the son of David, but is definitely the son of John, Sr.(1680). John, Sr's father's name was Jacques and Jacque's father was named Jacques De Purviance. I have a family bible that verifies this, however, there are many websites that you can visit to add to and correct your information. Ancestory.com has a nice list, as does DBJohnston.faithweb.com, but there are many others. Actually, if you change descendent #1's name to John instead of David, then the information is correct. Also, John & Margaret McKnight had 3 additional known children, Sarah, William and James. James was actually their firstborn from whom I am a direct descendant. Those websites have the details. Respectfully, M. Shaw
