Have an somewhat odd querry related to the Purvines. I have been researching my late grandmother's family and have found so far that she was the daughter of a Robert Scott and a Helen Wylie. Both are shown as born in California in census records and the only Helen Wylie I have found of the right era in California is listed in the LDS as Helen Wyllie, born Sept. 21, 1866 in Sierra County, California. She was married to Charles Purvine as you know - you are listed as the Submitter. I don't know if your Helen Wyllie is any relation to mine, but have been investigating the possibility. In my investigations I have found, here on GENforum a querry listed under James Wyllie b. 1818 Scotland d. 1893 CA. It shows James moving to Germantown, PA and then to Freestone CA from Ayershire, Scotland. He married a Margaret McGregor and had 7 children, one of whom is listed as Helen Ella Wyllie. If you want to check it, it's posted by Albert Zopp. Helen Ella sounds as though it could be your Helen Wyllie. Do you know anymore about your Helen Wyllie to help identify her? My grandmother was called Virginia Scott, born August 18, 1896 and was orphaned early and raised by her aunt and uncle, Ella and George Maxwell of L.A. and Healdsburg.
Be grateful for any clues. Thanks.
