I am trying to identify and find information on Samuel Purviance, who was listed as owning land in Milford twp. Cumberland County, Pa. beginning in 1771. And who also lived in Greenwood Twp.Cumberland Co., Pa. from at least 1773 to 1785. It appears that he was a partner in a business
named "Purviance and Cox" I believe his associate was either Charles or John Cox of Philadelphia and suspect that the business involved land speculation.
Samuel Purviance was also a witness to the early Cumberland County Will of David McCreight(1774) of Letterkenny Twp. Cumberland Co., Pa.
Your assistance will be appreciated.
