Children shown with Thomas B. and Martha Puryear in the 1850 census are:

Caroline never married and is shown with her sister Elizabeth's family in the 1870 + 1880 census.

Sally O. (not your Sally Ann) married Hiram Forlines 7/29/1852 in Mecklenburg County.

Richard Elam (grandson) is the son of daughter Matilda H. who married Andrew Daniel Elam 12/20/1827 in Mecklenburg County.

I am not sure of my source used to make your Reuben a child in this family. Grace Hollis Puryear, in her book about the Puryear Family, says there were three sons but she did not identify them.
