Promised to share info when I had it. William Elzy Puryear was first married to Eva (maiden name not yet located) who was the mother of Earl Puyear(10/2/1902-5/8/1996) and Ethel Puryear (6/2/1906). After Eva's death William married Clara Higgs who was the mother of Bessie (5/2/1906 - 1/??/1992) and William (3/13/1913 - 2/26/1980) (and possibly an infant that did not survive - John H ?). Records show William's birthday as 3/18/1913, but the family always celebrated his birth on the 13th, not the 18th. Bessie believed the doctor waited several days to record the birth as William was born at home.

Jeffry, you stated you did not have wives for Earl and William. Earl married Gladys Eursula Wilson (10/11/1910 - 1/11/1969). She was the daugher of Mac Wilson and Mary? Smith Wilson of East Prairie, MO. Earl and Gladys had one child, Charles Puyear (3/30/1942). William married Mary Sue Brown; daughter of Athanasius Sherman Brown (2/12/1882 - 7/3/1952) and Virginia Guess (11/9/1896 - 11/5/1975) both of McLean Co., KY. William and Mary Sue had 2 daughters: Rosemary Puyear 12/28/1937 and Susan Kaye Puryear 8/25/1946.

Contacted the Muster family (owners of Muster Funeral Homes {oldest business in McLean Co. KY; established 1855} for info on whereabouts of Chapman Cemetary (burial place of James & Elizabeth Puryear). So far they have been unable to locate the cemetary. Will continue the search.

Any info about the parents of James and/or Elizabeth Mary Johnson Puryear would be appreciated.
