In Grace Hollis Puryear's book on the Puryears, she shows a record of the estate of William Puryear being moved to Clarke County, Georgia from Jackson County on 6 Jan 1812. In this record it shows a son named Thomas.

Thomas C. Puryear and family are in the 1830 + 1840 census for Carroll County, Georgia. Mary(born in Vermont) is the head of household in the 1850 census for Chambers County, Alabama. Mary (born in New York) is living with her son Peter in the 1860 census for Russell County, Alabama. All the children from Thomas and Mary changed the spelling of their surname to Preer.

I am interested in your Thomas Puryear b.19 Oct 1791 and d.1838. Can you add any info on this man? Thank you!
