Although they were Quaker and Friends did adopt children, it's unlikely that a child born in 1770 would have been adopted by this pair.

First of all, Katherine Maris was m. to John Pusey, not George Pusey. Secondly, John died in 1766 and Katherine in 1773 (aged 66) so it doesn't make sense that an elderly widow would be given and infant to adopt. Thirdly, John and Katherine lived their married lives in London Grove township in Chester County, Pa., and never in Stafford Co., Va.
