Parents of John Pudney/Putney b1636 from Salem MA

Nobody can dig up this data. Nobody has found the ship that John came over on. Cyndi Putney Duran posits the following theory: John was born in Mass of James and Sarah (Smith, perhaps sister of Capt John) PITNEY ( with the "IT") who came from England, Sarah on board the good ship PLANTER. She traveled with Margaret Pitney who may be James' Daughter by a previous marriage.
This accounts for the absence of any later data for James Pitney and family. It also accounts for the absence of parental data for John when his wife, Ms. Judith Cooke is very well documented. It accounts for why John's boat could not be found. He was born in Mass. ANY QUESTIONS?
