Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Ancestral File entries on Familysearch.org are a convenient starting point for research, but they are not considered reliable sources.

In fact, if you enter "Samuel Pudney" on their search screen, you will find entries that show either (and both) Elizabeth Snow and Martha Gloyde as his wife. This is where I began, and now I'm trying to figure out which is correct.

I'm leaning toward Martha Gloyde, as Samuel's sister Hannah married James Gloyd, and the marriage of Samuel Putney and Elizabeth Snow occurred in Boston, not Salem.

Thanks for trying to help, guess we'll just keep searching. I'll post if I find anything more.
