I am a direct descendant of the NH Thomas Putney III, then Jr. then Sr., son of Asa Putney son of Joseph Putney who was the son of John Putney Jr, son of the 1st John Pudney/Putney - Salem, MA.

There is a document located at the NH Historical Society in Concord, NH. It was written by Willis B. Putney in 1976 with updates in the early 80's prior to his death. It has extensive information on almost every branch of the Putney family starting with John Pudney/Putney. There are references to the Putney's that were in NH, MA, NY, CT, OH and other places outside of New England. It is 103 pages of hand typed information that Willis gathered. I found it to have the most extensive information I could find. there are some errors like the month of my Dad's birth but it is an invaluable document.

I have a copy of the document. It cost about $40.00 to have the NH Historical Society copy it. The web site is: http://www.nhhistory.org/library.html
