I have Nathaniel in several censuses. I, too, believe he was a brother to Hiram Putney. Hiram was my great-great-grandfather. Nathaniel seemed to always be around Hiram, living either with him or near him. But I have never found Nathaniel's death or any marriage for him. I wasn't aware of a Wisconsin connection, which may explain why I couldn't find his death. When was he there? In the 1880 Iowa census he is listed with a Hulda Tolman, whom I believe might be Hiram's daughter, but I'm not sure about that. What are you looking for? I might have it in my files. Are you a descendent? This branch of the Putneys is a particularly hard one to find. Do you think there was more than one Nathaniel Putney? I've worked on the Putneys off and on for years now. Glad to make your acquaintance.
