Kathy, if you are still trying to sort this out, maybe this will help. If you have access to Ancestery, they have a new record of documents from "Records of ye towne meetings of Lyn" that may prove helpful. The entries start in Feb. 1724 when Samuel and his wife and children come from Salem to Lyn. it ends in June 1735 when "the widow" Martha Pudney and her daughter are being cared for by a Jacob Tarbox. It appears Samuel died proir to March 3, 1735. This is the first entry where Martha is call widow.
