Seeking information on descendents and ancestors of Boswell W. Pye who appears in Nacogdoches County, Texas prior to 1850. I am researching this person for Daniel Smith of Evergreen, Colorado. His e-mail address is His paternal grandparents were Edgar Earl Smith and his second wife, Susan D. (Doll) Pye. They were married sometimes after 1908 when his first wife died as proved by a marked grave in the Atoy Cemetery in Cherokee County, Texas. Have yet to find Edgar Earl Smith or Dollie Pye on the 1910 census in either Cherokee or Nacogdoches County, Texas, or a marriage record for them in either county. Have found birth records in Cherokee County for some of their children however listing mother and father as such. His Smiths go back to Jackson Smith before 1840 in Cherokee County, Texas to Jackson Smith on whose land old Jacksonville was located. Who was the A. Pye listed as a brother on the census with Boswell W. Pye? Have found a few Pye records in Nacogdoches County which to not fit into Boswell Pye's family and wonder if they belong to this A. Pye.
