One my ancestors was Robert PYE, born around 1803 in Dysart (Pathhead), Fife. He was a cabinetmaker by trade and married Ann Wright MCGREGOR in 1826 in Cramond, Midlothian and in Edinburgh. His death certificate hasn’t been found yet but he probably died in Australia or New Zealand because most of the family moved to Melbourne, Australia in the mid 1850’s. The name ‘George’ was prominent among the children & descendants of Robert so maybe his father was a George PYE. Robert’s children were: Margaret PYE (1829, Edinburgh); Isabella PYE (ABT. 1831, b. in London, England); George PYE (abt. 1832, b. in London); Harriet PYE (abt. 1838, Edinburgh); Henry Weston PYE (1842, Edinburgh); and Ann PYE (1845, Edinburgh). I don’t know how he came to be in London in the early 1830’s. The name ‘WESTON’ is possibly in his ancestry. I would like to link up with anybody who is working on the PYEs from around Dysart, Kirkcaldy etc. or anybody who has information on the ancestors of my Robert PYE.
