Hi. I've researching the supposed three brothers - Archibald Freeman Pye, John Georgia Pye, and Boswell William Pye. All born in Oglethorpe, GA and migrated to Texas in latter part of 1800's. Regarding John Georgia - he shows up in the 1880 Brazoria Co, TX census, with 4 little kids, two of them are 5 mo old twins. But no wife. There is a cook and nurse living with the family. Supposedly he was married in 1873 to a Martha Jane Rawls, who I'm guessing died just after the twins' birth. Supposedly they were married May 23 1873 in Brazos co, TX, but I can't prove that.
I can't find any proof of their marriage, or of a marriage for John Georgia at all in TX. I can't find any record of a Martha Jane Rawls that fits this profile. Census records say she was born in TX. Does anyone have any information on this family? I'd love to prove Martha's existence and their marriage, and want to know what happened to John Georgia Pye's 4 kids - Minnie, Benier Freeman, Frank and Mattie.
