Seeking information on family of John Pye, known as "Pye the Englishman", friend and neighbor of prestigious Schuyler family of Albany, N.Y. and subject of a narrative written by Josiah Priest in 1836 called: "The Robber, a narrative of Pye and the Highwayman". Pye and his wife ran a tavern on the Watervliet Turnpike Road, north of Albany, N.Y. John Pye was buried in the Schuyler family plot at a place called "The Flatts" described in a book written by Anne Grant called "Memoirs of an American Lady". The Schuyler family burial plot was later transferred to the Albany Rural Cemetery in the 1920's. John Pye died July 27, 1817 at 65yrs. of age and is listed as being a native of England.
