Just found your note on genforum about Pyes in Maryland. I'm curious to see what progress you have made. I have been researching my Pye family for many years. Specifically I have a William Pye working on his brother's plantation in Barbadoes. I feel the brother's name was Edward as this name shows up in Barbadoes records. Also find that Edward Pye listed his major residence as Maryland.

The above mentioned William Pye was impressed from the docks in Barbadoes and ended up in Newfoundland where he married Blanche Pye. Both these Pye lines go back (documented) to John Pye o the Mynde, 1444-1550. He is the common ancestor for both of my Pye lines.
