Jane Elizabeth Pylant was my Great Grandmother, married to
Jesse Cato. My Grandfather was Tyra Alonzo Cato, married to
Elizabeth Salter. My Father was James Norman Cato, married to Elgie Ione Whitman. The Pylant, Cato, Salter families are from Edgefield County and surrounding areas. The Whitman
family is from Saluda County, Batesburg-Leesville area.
They were from Alabama originally. I don't really know where
my Fathers' side of the family was from originally however, they seem to be from out of Johnston,S.C. area. Alot of them are buried at Dry Creek Baptist Church.
Would Appreciate any info you might have on any of the above.
Best Regards, GLENDA
