Joy:

I am so greatful that you answered my post. I goofed on the marriage of John Pylant and I am so glad I did for you saw the post and replied. I have been to the CP site to correct myself.

You have been most helpful as much of the information on the marriage data of Margaret Gilbert and Pinkney Pylant's as well as Margaret's maiden name I had wrong. Many researchers in Lincoln CO., TN had her name Renfro although I had seen it as Gilbert on the web. Now it looks like Margaret was the daughter of Edith ? Gilbert and stepdaughter of James Renfro.

Can you look up in the Cumberland CO. NC Marriage Records, if you have them, a marriage for Edith Renfro and a Swindle. Margaret and Pinkney Pylants were suppose to have been in Lincoln CO., TN by 1823. I do not know if Edith came with them or latter. On the 1860 LCT census and MT. Hebron CP Church records (of the 1830s)in Norris Creek,LCT her last name was listed as Swindle.

There are many of us today researching the Pylants in LCT. so the info you sent me will help many. Also I looked through your post history on Genealogy. Are you related to the Brown family of Middle, TN in the early 1800's who married into the Armstrong family. Thomas Armstrong b. 1755 and wife Mary "Molly" Brown were by 3 greatgrandparents.
