I have a Pyne Family Tree that lists a Bridget MaGrath born 5-20-1818 in Castlelyons area of Co. Cork and died May 13 1901 in BLoomington. She married Edmund Sweeney and they had a daughter Kate Sweeney born in 1844 in Co. Cork. She married John Pyne and together they had 10 children, one of which was my husband's grandfather, Edmund Pyne and another who was Bridget Pyne Phelan who married Patsy Phelan and had 7 children. We received this information from the Sweeney reunion. Not sure if you already have this infomation or not. We live in Bloomington, IL now and some Sweeneys and Phelans still reside here. Our question was re the origin of the Pyne name because we always thought it was Irish but we're also hearing England.
