Hi, It's been a long time since you posted your message on this site but I was wondering if you would be kind enough to help me regarding Jasper Masters Pyne O'Callaghan.
I've been researching my family tree (the Dix family seem to reside mostly in North Norfolk) but I found a relative of mine living in London in 1868, Ann or Annie Dix (31 Moscow Street to be precise) having given birth to the illegitimate son of Jasper Pyne O'Callaghan (the birth certificate is hard to read but appears to say he is a Chief of - Merchant Service). The child is named Jasper Dix. A few years later there is another child, Agnes Dix (I'm waiting for the birth cert to check this is also a child of O'Callaghans)but this child is being reared by Ann's sister, Hannah. Jasper junior died aged just six at his grandparents house in Norfolk of Scarlet fever and Ann is gone.I can find no reference toher whatsoever.
Do you have any information regarding Jasper Pyne O'Callaghan, or what might have become of Ann? I have recently found reference of a marrage between Jasper Masters Pyne O'Callaghan and a Sarah Louise Colburn in 1878 in Cork, Ireland, then again in 1883 in Surrey.
I hope this might be of some interest to you, sorry it's so late! It's a real mystery to me but fascinating too. I'd very much like to learn as much a possible about Mr Jasper Pyne O'Callaghan!
Thankyou, and sorry again for my late reply!
Steph Dix
