In Reply to: William Montgomery Pyron by James R. Pyron of 494

William Montgomery Pyron, b. 1/11/1821 in Mecklenburg Co., NC. Married first to Unice (Unica?) Armelia Williams on 7/25/1841 in Mecklenburg Co. Married second to Martha Jane Cogburn Edge (widow of George William Edge) on 5/13/1869 in Pike Co., AL. Died 8/24, 1897 in Mountain Creek, Chilton Co., AL. Buried in the Methodist Church Cemetary in Deatsville, Elmore Co., AL.

Unice Armelia Williams Pyron is buried in the Baptist Church Cemetary in Pine Level, Pike Co., AL.

Children to Unice Armelia Williams are:
1) Marcus Alexander Pyron (b.1843)
2) James Milton Pyron (b. 1844)
3) John Maloney Pyron (b. 1845)
4) William Leonard Pyron (b.1852)
5) Thomas Pyron (b. 1854/1855?)
6) Elizabeth Josephine Pyron (b.1858)
7) Sarah Pauline Pyron (b.1862)
8) Ella Florence Pyron (b.1865)
9) Fannie Pyron (b.1869)

Children to Martha Jane Cogburn and William M. Pyron are:
1) Mary Emma Pyron (b.?)
2) Beulah Vashti Pyron (b.1874)
3) Vena Madlyn Pyron (b.1876)
4) Algie Sloan Pyron (b.1877)
5) William Locke Pyron (b.1880)
6) Henry Debardeleben (b.1883)
7) Minnie Lee Pyron (b.1885)

1860 Georgia Census lists William M. Pyron as a farmer with a real estate value of 1800 and a personal property value of 1000. (It also spells their last name as "Piron.")

1870 Alabama Census lists William M. Pyron as a "mill hand." His wife Martha is listed as "keeping house." His male children are listed as "woodchoper" [sic].

Though I am unsure of this at the moment, I believe William Montgomery Pyron's father to be Thomas R. Pyron of Mecklenburg Co., NC. I also believe his grandparents to be William C. Pyron and Mary Powell, both of Mecklenburg Co., NC. Again, unproven so far.
