Minnie McKay who married Archie Pyron was the daughter of George S. McKay (son of Christopher Columbus--C.C. McKay--and Permelia ORear and grandson of Norman McKay and Lydia Holloway). Minnie's mother was Minerva ORear who was the daughter of Daniel ORear/Mahala Moore. (Listed in 1850 & 1860 census of Walker County, AL; 1870 census of Marion Co., AL, 1880 census of Lamar Co., AL.) Daniel is buried at Kingsville Church of Christ Cemetery in north Lamar Co., AL. Grave next to him has no headstone and may be Mahala's. George and Minerva's marriage is listed in the McKay family Bible as well as Minnie's birth listed there. Minnie was my grandfather's sister. This line is listed in DAR records as Daniel ORear's grandfather, also named Daniel ORear, served in the American Revolution. I have a copy from AL Archives of Minerva's papers where she filed for Confederate widow's pension. She gives her date of birth and father's name. George S. McKay was in 26th AL CSA.
