Hi,
I've just found this web page and am impressed to learn how big this family is in the USA. I'm writing the biography of brazilian president Jânio da Silva Quadros (1917/1992), and know fairly well the history of the family in Brazil.
1 - Brazilian family members, e-mail me and let's get in touch.
2 - From what I've read, 'Quadros' comes from the spanish 'Cuadros' and originated in Spain (or the Azores, under spanish domain, in 16th or 17th century?). A group of Quadros arrived in Brazil in late 18th century. Some stayed in the north (Maranhão, Bahia), others went to the south (Paraná, Santa Catarina), and the second or third generation of these ones came to São Paulo in the early 1900s.
I would like to know more of this azorian origin. If any of you know about the very beggining of the family, please let me know.

Thanx,
Bernardo
