I find it interesting that the name was changed TO Quaglio, as that's exactly the name my wife's family brought to Ellis Island, only to have the g dropped. We now have both Quaglio's and Qualio's who are related right here in the same community, attending the same family reunions.
Our Quaglio's also came from Naples, and Gabriel married Mary Bessignano, from Ciriliano, inland a ways from Naples.
If it's not helpful, perhaps it will at least be interesting.
