Seeing as how she is my great great something grandmother, yes, I do know :) She was born in 1816 in Georgia and died in 1910 Johnston Co. OK, Thomas Walter Quaid her husband was a clothes designer and he belong to the same Masonic Lodge as Sam Houston (alamo hero. Thomas had a land grant in Rusk Co. Texas (city of New Salem) for 480 acres. They had moved to Rusk co. from Brownsville, Mississippi. Had a either 4 or 5 kids their names are Elihu, Benjamin, William Riley and Simpson. My documents says that Emily's parents My documents varies from Goverment document (which lived with them: Silas Moore and Morning Star (Mother Morning Star was 100% choctaw and father Silas was part choctaw). Thomas was the offspring of Morris Quaid from st. Mary's Co. Maryland, he was a lawyer and possibly from Ireland or 2nd gen. American (1721 something). I have a lot more info too, just too much to type. Anyway, you have to read this Choctaw Roll history about the Quaids and Moores, it is so amazingly detailed and AWESOME, follow the link at the end:
